The New and Improved, Third Season Jaime

 

The Tank Top Tell All:  As I’ve been slowly working my way through the third season episodes of The Bionic Woman and noticing a bit of transformation in Jaime’s character vs. last year.

 

I suddenly realized in the very first scene we saw her in this season, this subliminal warning message was there all along. While showing off her strength for Rudy in the lab, Jaime’s bright yellow tank top spoketh:

(with lots and LOTS of paragraph return spaces, so the next line falls, well... y’now where)

So there you have it. Like a billboard, this tank top fairly warned us right out of the starting gates to fasten our seat belts. Ergo the reason 3rd season Jaime has begun to remind this viewer of Carrie Bradshaw in Sex and the Bionic City. Why this year she will suddenly have no constraining teacher obligations, scores of new guys to date (yeah, but we all know who Mr. Big & Strong is), endless closet racks of new fashionable clothes to wear (including a certain blouse that would likewise force the HBO censors to call an emergency meeting)... and even a few girlfriends with whom to lunch and talk about relationships over Gazpacho soup. (I’ve decided Callahan is the ‘Samantha’ of the group.)

 

The only thing missing in our new Ms. Sommers is an expensive designer shoe fetish like Carrie’s. But then that wouldn’t be practical for Jaime since she also wears them as emergency bionic brakes.

 

Yeah, well... so what if Jaime doesn’t have a chic apartment on the upper east side of Manhattan? She’s got an awesomely decked-out 70s, 1-bedroom studio over a horse barn in Ojai. Brace yourselves for season 3 folks, this Bionic Blonde is happenin’!
